Canadians Boycott Chrysler
The Chrysler Corporation has resorted to extortion North of the border. They have issued an ultimatum to the Canadian Government. Quite simply, Give us 2.9 billion dollars, or we are pulling out all our operations out of Canada. This entails 10,000 jobs. I say to Chrysler, take your piece of crap Minivans back home and put them where the sun doesn't shine. In turn,I suggest we buy anything but Chrysler. Here are the numbers, they need us more than we need them. Screw U Chrysler!!!

I know it's lengthy, but a good read.(dated March 9,2009.)

Chrysler Canada had a big moment in its 84-year history, as they became the number one selling automaker in Canada for the first time ever following a February sales total of 12,015 units. Leading the way for Chrysler Canada was their lineup of crossovers and small SUVs. The Dodge Journey sold 949 units, while the Dodge Caliber moved 1204 units. Combined sales for the Caliber, Jeep Patriot, and Jeep Compass "Trio" totaled 2257, a total that is up 31% over January.

The Dodge Grand Caravan continued its Canadian success with a sales total of 2803 units for February. The Dodge Charger moved 551 units, up 21% compared to February 2008.

Back home, Chrysler continued to fight back, and posted an increased retail industry market share of 11%, up 1.4% compared to 2008. Overall, Chrysler posted February sales of 66,658 units, down 26% versus February 2008. The total auto retail industry has been hammered, down a projected 35%.

Despite the woeful news, Chrysler did have some positive news to report. Jeep Wrangler sales are up 28% year over year as sales of the Jeep brand's mainstay remained strong. Additionally, the award-winning 5.7L V-8 HEMI engine is now available at no extra cost for the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 through the month of March in celebration of the Dodge Truck Month.
