MTS Rules MORE RACIN MTS Series Rules (trucks)
(Revised 12/09/06) INTRODUCTION The following is the Rules and Regulations of the Moreracin League along with pertinent changes and additions there to. To ensure proper enforcement of these rules and regulations and to help eliminate failures of its members to know the rules, this document is heremore League_rules.htm by forwarding to everyone who now participates in its activities, or may do so in the future. To ensure the contentment of each of its members within the league, that each and every race conducted by the more family, will be of fair, consistent, and free of negative aspects, found within a community of internet online racers, these rules and regulations will be strictly enforced by the Administration of this league. : GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. CONNECTION ISSUES: a. Each of us is totally responsible for our own connection. There will be no corrections made for missed laps due to warp. b. If you are warping badly in practice, do whatever possible to correct the problem before the race starts. If it cannot be corrected, consider starting at the back of the field. If it persists to the point of causing wrecks, we would expect that you would park it for the evenings event. c. If you are disconnected at any point in the race, you will be allowed to rejoin the race. Obviously you will have to accept the amount of laps down the game gives you.. d. If you manually disconnect, you will not be allowed to rejoin for any reason. 2. FLAMING a. There will be "zero tolerance" for flaming of any type, directly towards another member while on the race server, in the chat room, on the Ventrilo voice communications room, and emails or other correspondence. This is a family oriented racing league community within more, and every member has the right to NOT be attacked in this manner. It can seriously affect the feelings, negatively, of the one you are speaking to and degrades your honor as a decent, caring individual that belongs to a closely knit family of on-line racers. Zero Tolerance means just that...... Commit this offense and you will be made accountable in a private discussion with the More admins.. No excuses, no apologies, will render a reversal after the fact, regarding this policy. Commit the offense a second time and we will tender your resignation from MORERACIN b. Any individual that deliberately antagonizes another in the attempt to create hostility in an individual, provoking said individual to commit an infraction of the flaming policy of Moreracin, will be in violation of the flaming rule of this league. Said individual will be automatically ejected from the server and further Administrative actions may be warranted. 3. ATTENDANCE AND PROVISIONAL a. provisional’s will be allowed during any season using RaceLM. 4. COMMUNICATIONS WITH OTHER DRIVERS a. It has been decided that only necessary advisories will be allowed. If you have a need to communicate with someone during a race to relax, voice your opinion on a subject, etc., then you need to be on Ventrilo or any other voice communication program that someone else uses. This will greatly reduce the unnecessary chat that appears in the upper part of the screen that is distracting. It will also be helpful to the officiating team as each driver will know that any message that appears is important, both from their fellow competitors and the officiating team. The only place this type of communications will be permitted will be on a community used voice communications channel. Your being on this type of communications channel is at your discretion as it too can be cluttered at times with unnecessary chatter. b. Use auto chat to advise oncoming traffic of your intentions! No other chat is allowed at any time during green flag racing! We do not want any typing at any time by any driver during on track activities after Qualifying begins! Only racing advisories, such as “Pass low Ill stay high” or “Pitting this lap” etc. “Sorry, Thank you, NP, or other chat messages are NOT acceptable during race conditions! This is not a “Sorry league” and will not be run this way. If you hit someone, they know you didn’t mean it or you wouldn’t be here. If you pass someone, they know you are thankful for getting by. Race me with both hands on wheel like I will race you! c. Auto chat messages will be short and to the point, with no additional, unnecessary dialog attached, such as, pitting for beer and cigarettes, watch out for drunk, leaving pits wild and crazy, need lots of room, etc. d. Affective January 1st, 2006: Any blatant violation of this specified rule, herein stated, will render 1st) a warning from the board members 5. PROTESTS FORMAT a. If another driver commits a racing or league infraction against you, and by trying to remedy the infraction as grown adults with this family, by talking it out, you do not receive enough satisfaction, you may submit a formal protest within 24 hours of the incident (s). All submissions will be to the Series Administrator of that particular race , via email, and to include a three-lap replay clip, if it is of racing origin. The Administrator will call a meeting of the Council on Series Affairs, and make a decision, as to validity, severity, and determination of type and applicable punishment to the offender. b. The council WILL look at the replay of an incident on the track from every possible angle, from every possible view, for a determination. They will also look at still frames, one by one, if necessary, consider the how, when, where, who, and what, to arrive at a fair conclusion. If it is determined that there is not sufficient evidence, to render a majority verdict of guilty, then we must consider it a racing deal. Also keep in mind, the Council can also see it from an unbiased view and feel that you, yourself was at fault and may feel that penalties will lie with you instead! 6. SERVER ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITY a. Only the Administration of the More series has the authority to physically administer any penalties, or other administrative duties, at any time during events hosted by the Moreracin . It is further understood, that any owner/president of another league of the RSG is encouraged to sign on to the server, using the Admin Code, for the sole purpose of emergency reactive response to the administration and/or CNRO of the hosting league, falling out of the server and incapable of returning, leaving no one in administrative command of the server. At no time will the chain of command of the Moreracin, be violated, when it is the controlling entity of any given server. B. RACING RULES & REGULATIONS THIS SERIES WILL FOLLOW ALL THE NASCAR NEXTEL CUP SERIES RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE 2006 SEASON PLUS THE FOLLOWING: 1. NON-HARDCORE /Fixed Setups a. This series will be NON - HARDCORE . b. This series will be Fixed Setups expert with one hour practice sessions. 2. We will be Qualifying in this series 2. STARTS AND RESTARTS 2. STARTS AND RESTARTS a. NO BURN OUTS will be allowed at beginning of race during role out for pace lap. This is noisy and annoying to others. Sometimes you can't see for all the smoke, and listen to your crew chief announcements, or your team member talking. They don't allow it in NASCAR, we don't allow it here. Any violation of this rule will render you a black flag, by the NRO, to be served immediately after the drop of the green flag. c. During all pace laps, maintain an interval of .1 - .5 seconds behind the truck in front of you. It is advisable, but not mandatory, that you pace in a staggered formation to help eliminate a possible collision with the truck in front of you. When the "one to go" is announced, close up the formation and let the lap trucks move to the inside line during double file restarts. It is also a safer way to scrub tires or maintain tire heat, which is permissible. f. DO NOT LAG BEHIND TO GET A JUMP AT THE RESTART. This is highly unfair to the truck (s) behind you. You must maintain a .1 - .5 second interval to the truck in front of you! Lagging back will get you black flagged, if, after instant review by the officials of the race, it is determined that you intentionally did so to gain the advantage. G. All drivers are required to have a steering wheel in order to participate in any More series. 3. PASSING AND BEING PASSED a. Over aggressive and careless driving will not be tolerated. (blatant examples of this will get you ejected from the server by the Admin of this league) b. It is the responsibility of the overtaking truck, to make the pass in a safe manner. If passing on the inside, make sure that you can control your truck and not slide up into the truck you are passing. This includes making sure that you are clear of the passed truck, when you merge into his lane. Before you begin merging, you are to look into your rearview mirror and must see all of his truck, including his front bumper and a bit of the track. To merge before then could cause you to make contact with his front quarter panel. REMEMBER, he has the right to race you hard and not just give you the line. c. Aprons were designed for entering and exiting the track, not for passing. Sometimes it is necessary to use the apron to pass to avoid an accident or a given situation. This will be closely watched so make sure you don't use the apron to advance a position. There are situations where 2 wheels will cross the line but DO NOT drive under a truck and pass in this situation! If it is safer to follow through with the pass, make sure you fall back as soon as it is safe to do so! Failure to do so in a reasonable amount of time, will get you black flagged by the race officials, after they have instant reviewed the replay, and determined you have committed the offense. d. Blocking is not allowed until 5 laps to go. Swerving or sudden lane changes to prevent a pass is considered blocking. e. Lapped trucks have just as much right on the track as lead lap trucks and must be passed with due caution and safety. If you are a lapped truck and running off pace, you must yield to faster traffic by moving and giving the preferred "racing line". Use auto chat to advise oncoming traffic of your intentions! Again no other chat is allowed at any time during the race! We do not want any typing at any time by any driver during on track activities after Qualifying begins! Only racing advisories, such as “Pass low Ill stay high” or “Pitting this lap” etc. Happy Hour : 1. Happy Hour will be 5 minutes. There WILL BE ONLY 1 RESTART IN ANY GIVEN RACE WITHIN THE FIRST 2 LAPS AS DECIDED BY THE ADMIN RUNNING THE RACE g. This is a chance to check the setup for close quarter racing, not to see if you are the fastest out there. It doesn't matter where you are in the field at the close of Happy Hour. Please treat it as you would the actual race. 4. Cautions a. RACING BACK TO THE START/FINISH LINE IS NOT ALLOWED....This series will follow the NASCAR rules, thus, we have instituted the "LUCKY DOG". All positions will be frozen when the yellow flag is displayed and the lights come on. Hold you position and lift from the throttle gradually and stay behind the truck you were racing with. The race officials will determine who is the first truck a lap down and he/she will receive the lucky dog. 1. LUCKY DOG PROCEDURE: When notified of being the LD (Lucky Dog), pit for service as you normally would for being a lap down. (2nd time by). Speed down pit road and receive black flag and remain there until all trucks leave or until pace car may lap you further if other trucks are requiring major service. This will place you at the end of the longest line (EOLL). You may have to re-pit on some short tracks to remain at end of line. If any vehicle enters pit road on the 3rd time by, you are not expected to wait for that vehicle to be serviced. He gives up his place in line, unless mandated by crew chief upon leaving pit road.. Upon crossing the S/F line for the green flag restart, you will be given your lap back. The NRO are watching you closely via helicopter view from the time you pit until you reenter the track. Failure to abide by the procedure will forfeit your lucky dog award. b, KNOW THIS AND REMEMBER IT: If you collide with another truck, while on the racing surface, at caution lap speed, and that truck spins, you will receive a automatic one lap penalty, unless the truck in front of you brake checks excessively. No excuses, no exceptions. 5. SELF-SPIN/incident (brings out a yellow) a. First Self- Spin/incident/: This is a freebee. It is here that you determine that you have a problem and need to: slow down, or change your line approach. You must go to the end of the longest line. b. Second Self-Spin/incident:you will be REQUIRED to park it for the evening after the second self-spin/incident that brings out a yellow 6. TWO ACCIDENT RULE . If you are found to be the initiator of 3 or more up to 5 accidents per any given race, you will receive a mandatory invite to the RED TRUCK to discuss the problem . It is highly recommended that you park it for the evening if you acquire the 3rd initiated incident as you are rapidly approaching a race suspension as per the cap of the Penalty Point System. You will receive a complementary warning by the More official, when you initiate your second incident. 6a. OVER-AGGRESSION ACCIDENT RULE 1. Any individual driver that blatantly causes an incident on the track because of over-aggression will have his driving reviewd by the More admin team.. a. Blatant over-aggressive incidents include, but not limited to; dive-bombing the turns - over-aggressive moves toward the front during a re-start - committing any action deemed blatant, that would almost assuredly cause contact with another vehicle either in front of, beside, or in the rear of. i.e. aggressively driving way too close to the vehicle in front of you entering the brake zone - blatant disregard for the proper procedure for merging into the front of another vehicle - bumping the vehicle in front of you that, inturn, spins out, and is deemed intentional by the NRO due to over-aggression or blatant intimidation, but does not fall within the realm of intentional wrecking, which is an automatic ejection from the server, with further Administrative actions . 7. BLACK FLAGS a. Black Flags will not be cleared by the admin b. Serving a Black Flag requires going into the pits to clear. If a driver incurs a Black Flag given by the game or an official , the driver will not enter the pits to serve his/her Black Flag until they have crossed the start/finish line ON THE TRACK and taken the green flag if the black flag was issued under caution. 8. OTHER RACING RULES a. PIT ROAD Instructions 1. Pitting trucks will stay in the far right lane or as close to the far right as possible, until they see their pit board come down and then they may merge to their pit stall. DO NOT DRIVE THRU 6 PIT STALLS TO GET TO YOUR STALL. (This rule can be overlooked only when there are no other trucks on pit road, or you are the first truck on pit road.) Also, YOU CANNOT RACE THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF YOU ON PIT ROAD BEFORE YOU ARE SERVICED. Which means you cannot pass the truck in front of you on pit road prior to being serviced. Know where your pit stall is (relative position to the rest of the field at qualify) as you MUST MAINTAIN A MINIMUM OF 5 MPH below pit road speed or you may be black flagged for lagging on pit road. You can race out of the pits to get a better position. Exiting trucks will exit their pit stall into the far left lane and merge to the far right lane, when clear. You must use your rearview mirror to determine if it is clear, not your crew chief or spotter. They get you into trouble all the time. 2. The driver who is in his/her pit stall and is exiting the stall has the right of way in the far left lane. 9. MISCELANEOUS INCLUSIONS TO RULES/REGS as AMENDMENTS AND/OR REVISIONS ON AN ONGOING BASIS: a. Bump drafting is permitted in this series, however; only with a team member or another driver that you know for sure doesn't mind the push forward. It goes without saying; never bump draft in corners or wherever you are not in a straight-line area. Also keep in mind, that the truck you bump goes forward, but you, in most cases, loose momentum forward and could loose some spots on the track. b. There will be no "acts of revenge" on the track by any driver in this series. It is grounds for immediate ejection from the server and a visit to the red trailer for further penalties or termination from series, this WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! c. Faking pit stops is allowed as well as not signaling your intentions to pit. However, only do this if you know what you are doing and only if you are absolutely sure you are not going to cause an accident. Faking a pit stop or not letting anyone know your pitting, is very risky business and should only be attempted by qualified, experience drivers with lots of practice.. Causing an accident under these situations, will get you black flagged as well as a penalty point. d. After getting the yellow at the line, try to close up on the leaders before the pit road entrance (safely). Lagging back causes the trucks behind you to be penalized by time trying to get to the pit entrance to pit. You will be black flagged if this is deemed to be blatant. Also, if you are involved in an accident, or self-spin and touch no one, but receive major damage to your engine, blowout a tire, etc. and can't maintain track speed or steer your truck because of the damage. Don't drive around the track to the pit road. This only penalizes the trucks behind you to not get to their pit in a reasonable time to be competitive getting out. (They can't pass you) Instead, you SHOULD call for a tow truck. Failure to do so could get you a black flag issued by the more Officials. They will notify you in reasonable time that it is deemed necessary for you to call a tow truck. e. The drivers shall respect the braking points of other drivers. The trailing driver shall brake earlier than usual when following another driver as they enter the entry and cut zones. . This falls under the rule of section 6a. Over-aggressive Accident Rule. f. The drivers shall leave sufficient room when racing side by side. The drivers are responsible to accommodate for the inherent position inaccuracies of online racing. Do not squeeze another truck low or high as this is borderline blocking. Doing so before 5 laps to go, is a black flag penalty. Refer to section 3.d g. In the event of a server problem, or any other cause, that a race cannot be finished that night, it will be considered a rain out if the race is not at 50% or better. It will be rescheduled at a later date, not necessarily on the normal race night h. It is strongly encouraged for all drivers to save a replay and final standings. This is your only defense, in case a protest is filed AGAINST YOU!. It is also a great self-training aid. i. As in the real racing world, the race isn't restarted because one or two drivers have a problem and can't continue. Therefore, it is of the same premise that we will not restart a race for any reason other than server issues and damages incurred on the first lap, involving most, if not all, drivers of the race. Server issues are many, by definition, and will not be itemized here. The RSRL Race Officials want everyone that attends each race to have a full and successful race. Therefore, they will decide as to whether or not a restart is warranted. There will be no resetting of the server, after Happy Hour begins for anyone that is late, for any reason. A person that arrives late will be listed as needing provisional, or can start race accepting laps down given by game. The administration of the NLRL hereby states their apologies to anyone failing to arrive in time in the future races, but the rule is strictly adhered to. j. "Charging the Field" to advance your position, at a restart. k. If you are leaving pit road on the "one to Go" lap, you can speed up to the race speed to catch up to the field to take the green flag. However, if the field is about to take the green flag as you are rapidly approaching the end of the longest line, with all fairness, you must slow down to acclimate your speed to that of the trucks at restart. To race past trucks coming up to race speed, is the same as lagging back to jump the restart. This will be considered "charging the field" and unless you fall back behind the first truck you passed within reasonable time, you will receive a drive thru pit road penalty. It is a rarity that this situation happens (on super speedways mostly) and you will be given advise and warning from the race officials to do so safely. Failure to adhere to their warning will result in the penalty. 10.Definition of Initiator a. The driver whose car makes first contact with another that sets into motion an incident on the track that changes the running order of a race. b. An Initiator can also be defined as: One that performs an act that causes another to make contact with him or another car. examples: brake checking - improper lane change - losing control of car - self-spinning, causing another to collide with him - instigating a dangerous situation that causes an incident, such as making a move forward in a congested area, thus, making it three wide when there was nothing to gain by doing so. (lack of patience or over aggression) 4. These penalty points will be assessed after each race by the Series Administrators, by reviewing each race in its entirety. Their decisions are final. Obviously, there will be incidents missed due to warp, or no caution flags issued. If you determine that a point addition incident happened to you that was not recorded, it is up to you to advise the Series Admin of such. It will be reviewed and a decision made. It is being instituted into this series to make everyone drive with patience and with safety in mind. It is felt that this is a good deterrent to taking unnecessary chances when racing. Again, you were invited to race in this series because you drive with a serious mindset. 5. As in real NASCAR racing, there will be times that rule infractions are missed by the officials. This is to be considered as having gotten away with something. However, if a formal complaint is received by proper procedures regarding a missed rule infraction that jeopardized the race or any individual in it, and proven to be correct without doubt, the driver having committed the infraction, will receive a one penalty point for same. But only if that infraction was not seen and forgiven by an more official during the race. If a formal complaint, following the proper procedure for same is submitted, and the accuser is incorrect blatantly, he will receive a warning 6. When a driver reaches 5 penelty points,he will be required to sit out the following race that is to be run in the series. When the penelty is served the drivers penelty points will be set back to 0.
